At noon they continued their journey towards a destination about which they had no assurance. They had no idea what this road would lead them to, into an unknown route, into an unknown destiny, they continued their march. After climbing down the hill, the place was a little easier as it had green lush grass all over, beautiful flowers, the birds singing in the distance among the trees and small river flowing alongside. They forgot all their worries for a while and sat there near the flowing blue water, seeing the fishes dancing with the flow. They felt as if they had entered a fairy land and instead of moving ahead, they started talking a walk and enjoying the magical panorama. They started talking to each other saying that it was better to live here then to go in search of an unknown destiny. Seeing all this the chief did not interfere as he knew everyone was tired but above all the children were more weary as they kept on the walk bravely with their families.
Bravial holding Vialla's hand making sure she doesn't slip, walked along the riverside feeling the cool waters under their feet. Some children were playing near the stream trying to catch the fishes that came by, each child trying to catch a different colour fish. They sat down on a rock, with their feet dipped inside the water.
"How's your leg? Does it feel better or worse now."
Bravial asked as they watched the children having a pleasant time after so long tiring journey, forgetting the fear of the witch and the army.
"If it wasn't for your mother it would have been worse but actually I feel the journey has lessened the pain. Instead of the pain getting severe, it's much better now."
" Ya mother is known for her medicines, people love her for the cure and care she provides to anyone who comes to her. And she worships her work."
" Even I love her now for the same reason "
Hearing Bravial's serious face broke into a smile.
"The place is like a fairy land, I always wished to live in such place" Vialla continued, " but the witch and her spell are slowly destroying the entire town. If she isn't stopped she would kill the entire town people"
"The witch would have destroyed our town also but now I think she never turned towards us because she had your people for sacrifice"
"Maybe it can be that way but now the question is what would she do if she finds you people gone."
The children were gone as they mothers called them for snacks and now it was only the sound of water flowing by and the birds chirping around.
" I am sure your father will have some idea of how we are going to face the witch, if suppose she follows us"
" No he doesn't. I heard him talk to mother that how worried he was about how he would save everyone from the witch if she and her army attacks us."
Both sat there silently as Vialla remembered her town and her people who must be facing the wrath of the witch and Bravial worried about his father who couldn't rest until he finds a way out.
"Do you miss your family" Bravial asked again cause he knew once they cross the cliff, she will walk towards her family and her town which was long waiting for.
"Yes, too much, but I am going to miss you too" saying she kissed him.
At that moment they knew they both were deeply in love and they both shared the same world. They walked back slowly holding their hands and thinking about how will they part when the time would come. On the way back Vialla saw the beautiful flowers shining on the opposite side of the river and gasped
" How I wish I could get that flower, it's so beautiful! "
Bravial found it beautiful too so he jumped into the river and swam to the opposite side to pluck it. He quickly plucked one and swam back to her and lying on his knees he asked her,
" My love, Will you marry me and make my life whole. I don't think I would be able to go on without you "
Vialla who was still not out of the beauty of the flower and Bravial's swim to get the flower was now in a complete shock. She replied in the most loving words,
" I couldn't wish for anything better than this"
And they kissed again. They spent a little more time together before heading back. As they neared the group they saw that everyone was ready to walk forward as the chief had warned that spending more time was dangerous cause the witch or her soldiers could hunt them down anytime. So leaving the magical brook they started their journey again.
As they started nearing the peak from where they could finally reach the opposite side of the mountain which they hoped to be habitable or atleast where they could find another town, the climate started to change. It was becoming colder and as they neared the peak the chief's fear became stronger. He spoke in a hushed voice
" The town and the entire world from here has been frozen. I think the witch has shown her wrath on this town before we reached here. Maybe she knew we would come this way"
Hearing this Bravial and Violla climbed up in front to see what his father was talking about. But on seeing the sight Violla cried out in horror,
" It's my town, oh no! what has happened here."
